Details

This unique couple met on a blind date during an evening in which the future groom's softball game and brides' nurse week were celebrated with shots of whiskey. The moment they knew they were perfect for each other was when she gave up free tickets to her favorite band to pick him up from the airport.

Soon after, at a nice dinner, a proposal occurred with the future groom asking "Will you marry me?" during a wintery walk back to the car. Upon further prodding, the Groom-to-be mentioned he thought it went pretty well!

Wedding

This couple's wedding took place at the Press Room, one of Knoxville's most popular wedding venues and one of our favorite locations as Knoxville wedding photographers. The bride began her makeup in the dedicated bridal suite of the Press Room, which is plenty spacious and features 5 chairs along the vanity. While most brides hire a makeup artist, the bride's makeup artist was her good friend from Australia, who flew into Knoxville to not only celebrate her big day but also do her makeup!

All of the bridal details were photographed in the bridal suite, which features linen and gold-toned furniture. With the natural light flowing in through the window, the photographs taken were flattering.

The groom and groomsman suite is located an appropriate distance away from the bridal suite, on a balcony above the main event room. It is equipped with brown leather couches and has an exposed brick wall which makes for great photographs of the groom and his party. although for this particular wedding, we opted for the wall just below the balcony.

First Look

The first look took place in the hallway that connects the bridal suite to the main event area. This hallway is well-lit and offers plenty of natural light to flow in, allowing for beautiful photographs.

Ceremony

For this wedding, an outdoor ceremony took place that began with the signing of the ketubah followed by the processional, with the couple gathering under the chuppah and the breaking of the glass as they completed their marital covenant.

Portraits

The couple desired more greenery in their portraits, so we took a quick trip over to the Knoxville Botanical Gardens, which offers plenty of greenery.

Reception

The reception took place in the main event area of the Press Room and featured a romantic glow due to the hundreds of hanging light bulbs on the ceiling. Formalities of the evening included formal dances, speeches, cake cutting, and dancing to the music of the Boogie Knights.
