As Knoxville elopement photographers, we are available to travel anywhere in the USA. This Montana elopement photo was captured just after sunset after the sun was hidden behind the snowy mountain in the background.
Typically, we prefer to photograph couples photos just before sunset for a warm and soft look. This "hour" of time is often called "golden hour" meaning the hour just before the sun sets is golden in color. The hour after the sun sets is commonly known as "blue hour" referring to the shade of blue the sky exhibits after the sun sets below the horizon.
As a Knoxville elopement photographer, we generally have more time for creative couples photos and if an hour for a couples portrait session is possible, we usually advise planning for 30 minutes pre-sunset and 30 minutes post-sunset.
This couple has an interesting story! They had initially booked us as their Knoxville wedding photographers, but out of nowhere, COVID-19 struck and everything was postponed. They contacted us to let us know that they were canceling the wedding, eloping in Montana, and wondered what the options would be.
We didn't have to think long about it and simply told them that we would fly up to Montana and photograph their big day and have some awesome photos as well. In the end, it was a win-win scenario for both them and us, that's the way we like to do business!
